Walking with Godly Confidence in Every Season

Psalms 27: 13-14, reminds us:  I am certain that I will see the LORD's goodness in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the LORD.” These verses offer comfort and a call to courage, especially when life feels overwhelming, and the answers we’re looking for seem far off.

Waiting can be a struggle when life has become overwhelming. You must not forget that the Lord is on your side and working things out even when you can not feel it. You will go through different phases in your faith walk, and yes, everyone wants to shout during deliverance when that prayer you prayed for comes to pass and when everything is going the way you want it to.  No one wants to talk about or live through those phases that are uncomfortable, delayed, and difficult, and when it feels like they are in a dead-end season, nobody wants to jump up and down for that. Those seasons are when you learn if you trust the Lord and believe that His ways are better and greater than your own.

Do not mistake what I am saying; those difficult times are no fun in the park, but I have learned they have to happen to build you into the person the Lord is causing you to be. “1Pe 1: 6 You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials 7 so that the proven character of your faith -- more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire -- may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. CSB” Peter tells us to rejoice because you know that good will come from this and the glory of the Lord will be seen when you come out. Those around you will know that the Lord cares about what you are going through and that the Lord is able to do all things and is always working behind the scenes.

A Prayer for Godly Confidence

Lord, there are times when I take my eyes off You and let the world distract me from Your plan. Help me to keep rejoicing in what You are doing and give me the confidence to walk in the knowledge that Your plans for me are good. Remind me always that Your thoughts are not my thoughts, and Your ways are greater than my ways. Thank You for Your patience and for never giving up on me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As we walk through every season, may we hold tightly to the promise that God is shaping us and preparing us for greater things. Walking with godly confidence means trusting in Him—not only when times are good but also when we’re waiting.
