Seeking Jesus: A Journey of Purpose and Connection

Jeremiah 29:12-13 KJV

[12] Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. [13] And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

We spend so much time wondering what we are supposed to do in this world for the Kingdom that we sometimes forget who we are and why we are doing this. We allow life to cause us to become so distracted that the only thing we can focus on is the now. The only way to fulfill our purpose here on earth is to seek a closer relationship with Jesus. This is something we have to commit to because the Lord will not force anything on us, it’s a choice we have to make in choosing to seek him. As I walk through this trying season, I am learning that I tend to overthink things, instead of allowing Jesus to lead me and trusting that the Lord knows what's best. The only way to get to where He is trying to get us is to do as Jeremiah said, “to seek and search for the Lord with all your heart,” and as Paul said, “we must die to ourselves daily and seek Jesus for a relationship with Him and grow from the inside out.” Let’s start every day the right way, putting Jesus first.

Some begining tips:

Start your day with Prayer and pause after to allow time for the Lord to speak

Study scripture, not just you daily plan, take time to understand what the passages are saying

Create a journal: write down your prayers and when and how He answers so you can reflect on the goodness of God when you are struggling to see it

Lord, you said if I seek you, you will find me, and I will trust you at your word. Today I surrender my life and my will to you, trusting that your plans for me are good. You are omnipresent, and you know things I couldn't possibly understand. I am letting go of the wheel, and I will trust you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
