Can You Hear?

"He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
—Revelation 3:13 (KJV)

In a world filled with distractions, it can be difficult to hear the voice of God. The noise of life—temptations, stress, and worldly influences—tries to drown out His guidance. Yet, Jesus assures us, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27 KJV). He is speaking—can you hear Him?

We are called to be separate from the world, not in isolation, but in the way we live. How can we lead others to Christ if we do not interact with them? However, our lives should reflect a clear difference—our words, actions, and choices should set us apart. If we blend in with the world, how will anyone see Christ in us?

The Works of the Flesh vs. The Fruit of the Spirit

The world follows the desires of the flesh:
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
—Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV)

But as children of God, we are called to bear the fruit of the Spirit:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."
—Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)

Hope, love, and peace are found in a relationship with God. And right now, that is exactly what the world needs. If we choose to listen, to tune out the distractions, and to walk in His Spirit, we will reflect His love to those around us.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to hear Your voice above the noise of the world. Open my ears and heart to Your Spirit so that I may walk in Your ways. Let my life reflect Your love, hope, and peace to those who need it most. Amen.
