Who Will You Choose?
Romans 8:35-39 (KJV)
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?... Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us…”
There comes a moment in all of our lives when we have to make a decision—Whose side are we on? When life gets hard, when things don’t go according to plan, or your world is shaken, in moments of life's difficulty and broken plans, when hearts shatter and worlds tremble, who do you turn to?
The truth is, that life will be full of trials. That’s not just a possibility; it’s a promise. Jesus never said following Him would be easy. He made it clear we’d face hardships. But somewhere along the way, many of us bought into the idea that being a Christian meant our lives would suddenly be perfect. That we’d be shielded from pain or setbacks simply because we chose to follow Christ.
I hate to break it to you—but that’s not how it works.
Faith doesn’t mean ease. It means trust.
Trusting that even when you don’t understand the "why," God is still good.
Trusting that even when life is dark, His love is constant.
Trusting that nothing—not death, not life, not fear, not failure can separate you from His love.
You have to choose daily—sometimes moment by moment—to say, "Lord, I don’t get it, but I trust You anyway."
And if you’re feeling like that’s hard… you’re not alone. God knew exactly who you were when He formed you. He knew this journey would stretch you, challenge you, even break you down sometimes. But He also promised something powerful: He will never leave you nor forsake you. He’s not going anywhere.
So the question remains—who will you choose?
Will you trust in a world that constantly shifts and disappoints?
Or will you trust in the unshakable, unbreakable love of Christ?
Let’s Pray:
Lord, thank You for Your patience and grace with me. Through all of life’s ups and downs, You’ve never let go. You are my counselor, my comforter, and my guide. Help me to lean into You when life feels uncertain. Remind me to draw near to You through Your word, so I can stay focused on what truly matters—You. I choose You, Lord. This is my prayer. Amen.
